2018 Volkswagen  Maintenance Schedule Book

For most Volkswagen 2018 vehicles, the maintenance schedule is almost the same as that of previous generations.

  • Oil change service, still every 10,000 miles or every year.
  • Perform tire rotation at least every 10,000 miles.
  • Pollen filter every 40,000 miles.
  • Engine air filter every 60,000 miles.
  • Spark plugs every 40,000 miles (4-cylinders Gasoline 1.4L, 1.8L, and 2.0L)
  • Spark plugs every 60,000 miles (Turbo engines)
  • DSG Transmission service every 40,000 miles.
  • Automatic Transmission Service every 80,000 miles.
  • Brake fluid service every three years.

Also, the service intervals will vary depending on the state in which you live and your driving style.

eGolf-Minor Maintenance

  • Brake pads: Check thickness and brake disc condition. Look for contact pattern and corrosion of brake discs (front and rear)
  •  High-voltage battery. Charge upon customer request
  •  High-voltage warning label: Inspect
  •  Service interval display: Reset

eGolf-Standard Maintenance (Includes All Minor Maintenance Items)

  • 12-Volt battery: Perform diagnosis (determine charge capacity with diagnostic tester)
  • Automatic headlight control: Check (if equipped)
  •  Brake fluid: Check level
  •  Coolant level and frost protection: Check
  •  eMotor and eMotor compartment components: Check (from above) for leaks and damage
  •  eMotor and eMotor compartment components: Check (from below) for leaks and damage, check transmission, final drive, and drive
  • axle boots
  • Exterior lighting: Front and rear lights, headlights (adjust if necessary), turn signals, cornering lights, and hazard warning lights: Check
  • High-voltage charging cable: Check presence and condition
  • High-voltage charging socket in charging door: Visually inspect for contamination and damage
  • High-voltage components: Visual inspection for damage to the high-voltage components and lines, battery box, high-voltage connections and coolant connections, labels in the engine compartment and rear area
  • Horn: Check
  • Test drive: Check braking, kick down, steering, electrical, heating and ventilation systems, air conditioning, handling, and parking

  • Tire pressure monitoring system: Calibrate to correct tire pressure settings
  • Tire pressure: Check LF________ RF________ LR ________ RR ________ Spare ________
  • Tires: Check condition and wear pattern, record tread depth
  • Windshield wiper/washer system: Check
  • Wiper blades: Bring into service position and check for damage

eGolf-Extended Maintenance

  • Ball joints, wheel bearings, drive axles, coupling rods, tie rod ends, and stabilizer bar rubber bushings: Visually inspect for damage
  • and excessive play
  •  Body interior and exterior: Visually inspect for corrosion
  •  Brake system: Visually inspect for leaks and damage
  •  Front and rear coil springs and shock absorbers: Inspect
